Default Quick air intake question

i have a powerdyne s/c on my 4.8, but i sill have the stock airbox. do you think i will gain even a small amount of power by switching to an airaid or k&n cold air box? thanks

Talking

you can try drilling the front of the stock air box and try that. or build a box. i dont see why it would hurt anything.

I think you would see some big gains...the stock airbox on these trucks is very restrictive from what I understand

....if you have the pateince. My Radix will be installed friday and I have done a base dyno "before" run. After the install I will be doing an "After" run with the OE air box.
I will have a borrowed Airaid (p/n 200-112) CAI in the truck's back seat. I will make every attempt to make 2 runs with the OE box, and the 3rd with the Airaid, if there is no rush due to a line of customers.
I'm going to practice swapping them out before I go down there.

I "opened" up my factory airbox last weekend. I can't see any big difference but it's got to help get more cold air in since the stock openings are very small (the two inlet tubes). I cut the end off the box where the inlets were and also cut a part off the "front" behind the headlight.

I noticed no major difference in power when I added my intake, but I think it made my exhaust note a little deeper. It does look cool though... Ill give it that.

thanks for your input. i swapped a k&n fipk off another car at work yesterday, and i do notice a small difference and my s/c sounds a tad louder (i like that ). so i am definitely glad i changed out the stock box. i would still like those dyno results if possible.
