Shorty headers are about the same dimensions as the cast Chevy manifolds. They offer very little if any performance increase.

Long tubes are headers that span from the head all the way down past the bell housing area where they merge into a collector. These are item that yields significant performance increases because the flow better than stock and offer more scavenging.

There are also Mid-length headers that fall between the two (my old set ended up right near the "ears" on the bell housing). Generally speaking, mids are a significant increase over stock, but not as much as LTs.

Yes shorties will gain you nothing really, lts is the way to go, will help you out more in the long run if you keep the upgrading going. Lts help to scavenge the exhaust from the heads, better then shorts do.. SO bottom line is get the LT's

Make sure u spend the extra $ and get the ceramic...The LTs give u better low end TQ. Tuned exhaust guys even play around with collector length - NASCAR guys especially for track length, turn radius...R/

Long Tubes are defineately the way to go but they will require you to have a custom section of pipe made for your cats, or you can go with the offroad Y pipe and get rid of them all together... it sounds real nice Without them BTW.

Awesome, must sound pretty mean with the true duals. you're gonna hafta cut and rework the exheast though cuz the longtubes end in a very different location but i'm sure you can work it out.

How do you like the Dune Grapplers, not many guys seem to have them, i love mine.

Also, i would ditch the superchips, its really holding you back, youre not gonna see all the potential out of the truck with that conservative tune, especially with cam coming.
