Thanks for the suggestion It looks like the TR 224 is a popular cam.

I'm installing everything....with the help of Beau....I think...

I won't have a problem doing the engine swap, that's fairly straight forward. I asked if Beau could help me with the cam swap since he's done a couple and I'd just like to have a little guidance on that part of it.

Now, keep this project over here on PT....I've got it on the down low over at FSC, I'd like to keep it that way

I hope you pick up some cam educations like I am. That's one aspect I'm a little uniformed about, but I'm getting there

hope i somewhat explained it to where you dont get all confused
good explanation.

The DCR, what good does knowing that spec do? What's the purpose of that calculation?

Have fun dropping the motor in. Try not to crack the pump when getting the flexplate in the bellhousing. If gas wasnt so expensive I would drive down to Houston and lend an experienced engine swap hand but at 3 bucks a gallon

Your secret is safe with me. I keep all the appearance and suspension related posts on FSC and sts.com and performance/engine/tranny related topics over here.

seems like I read a tip about jacking up the transmission in a way that allowed you more clearance for the flywheel...I'll be sure to reread those before I dive in on this though.

Yup put a jack under the front of the pan and jack it up as high as you can without crushing the pan the set the motor on down in there with the rear tilted down. You might want to buy a couple of big pry bars
