Default !!!!!!!!dyno Results On '02 6.0 Denali!!!!!!!!

I did the dyno run tonight at AZ DynoChip where I previously did 4 dyno runs. In a nutshell, the intake showed basically no gains on HP or TQ. I currently have the "Flowmaster 6.0 cat-back" (for Denali's and Escalades) and Hypertech Powerprogrammer III.

My previous runs were all around 280hp/310tq with AND without the Hypertech. (It does help shift firmess, put the power out to 5900 instead of 5200, etc, but you get the picture). I never put it on the dyno bone stock previously, only with the Flowmaster, then Flowmaster & Hypertech.

Tonight the runs were all very similar, around 278awhp. It showed a HP or two gain/loss here and there, and then up top, around 5700+rpm (which is higher than a "stock" tune would go), maybe a gain of 2-3hp.

The runs were:
2 runs with stock intake
3 runs with CAI (3rd run we let it cool down significantly to see if it would show any difference, which it didn't)

I didn't run a dyno with the factory setting because: 1. The Hypertech showed no gains and 2. Because I'm assuming most people will do more mods than just an intake (some sort of software, exhaust, etc).

Believe me, I wanted this to show gains as much as any of you (maybe more since I spent $80 on the dyno)!!

Maybe the factory 6.0 intake is better/different than the 4.8 or 5.3? I don't know. I hope my testing was as fair and accurate as possible. Someone should probably test it on a 4.8 or 5.3...

Thanks for all your efforts,We all hoped for the magic pill, anytime a big claim comes along we all get excited, but we all know from experience the big claims are nothing more than that 90% on the time.Im sure people can manipulate dynos and things to make numbers sound good or look good, but for Joe blow like me i am skeptical that I can buy the product and get what I was sold or even half.Anyways thanks,if you are looking for donations to cover your dyno cost send me your paypal adress Im in for 12.5%.Now if the people that made the big claims want to cover your costs I might consider them as a future sponser I may buy from some day.I wont say it but guys is this intake in the class on snake oil with this one test?

The factory Air Box does a good job. The 6.0 intake is no different than a 4.8, or a 5.3. Sorry to hear about your results

Hey, thanks for the thoughts, but no need to contribute. Glad to do it! I'm sure everyone out here would test something like this every chance they could. I just wish it would have shown at least 10-15hp, for everyone's sake!

I wonder if the stock 5.3 tuck that they tested this on possibly gained the 20+ HP from leaning out more. Maybe it is good for a bone stock truck. Although mine is not too far from stock. And I'm not sure how many people out there are going to run JUST an intake!

This is very disappointing. We all had high hopes for this intake. Back to the drawing board.

Hey Blown, PM me your impression on the UPD as well, and perhaps the new volant. I plan to pick up a radix in the near future, just curious as to what intake runs best with it.

Thanks

Ouch!! Will the website be updated soon to show 0-28hp gain j/k
Let's try it on my 4.8L. It's got to be worth at least 5hp.

Weedo- Was the filter heavily oiled? I've seen that really kill power so bad I don't even oil K&N's any more. Just wash and dry.
