Was this using the K&N filter? Any holes in the airbox by any chance? Anything else besides the pro-cold to make 20 more rwhp? If not, thats pretty impressive.....a little on the unbelievable side

I'm interested in this intake but I'm kind of weary of $250 intake kits that do little or nothing (I bought my old version volant for $250 on ebay). My stock box with K&N and 2 large holes in the bottom makes more than a pound more boost than the Volant did (the volant has since been redsigned). I'm not sure if that equates to more power or just a higher boost reading, but nevertheless, I'm afraid of wasting more money. However this setup is by far the best I've seen. Only thing I might be a little suspicious of is the steel tube....seems like it would get hot - but apparently it doesn't make much difference.

I'm also curious to see test showing the flow of a panel filter vs a cone.

This is not directed at anyone inpaticular, just kinda tired of hearing people question the price. Not flaming anyone either, so please don't flame back.

Think about this for a minute....$250 is a fair price for this. That is what the market allows. I was real freaking happy when I bought my first Airraid back in 200 for $300. I opened thebox, and WOW...got a filter, gasket, and two peices of metal that rusted in 3 weeks. As with any product though, there is a certain amount of investement that needs to be recovered. You may be able to build it for less, but in how many hours, how much time will it take you to design your kit, oh and you are using someone elses shop that already has the tools for you to use. If you make $25 bucks and hour at your job, take that $ amount and apply it to your time to build your own. Put 8 TOTAL hours into this one (including all design, fabrication, testing, painting and installing, you are at $200 for time only. Now, factor in materials, numbers posted in an earlier post $120 to $140 and packaging...$10 give or take that totals $330 to $370. Now Dyno time on 3 different engines for marketing results like you have found here...$100 per hour is another $300. That comes to over $600 so far for an intake you say is overpriced. Now every time you tell a friend about your product, be sure to put yourself on the clock at $25 an hour. Don't forget those instructions that have to have time to be written and drawn either. And most important.....profit!

Summery, $250 for a designed and tested CAI that adds 15+ rwhp is a very reasonable price IMO.

the test results of stock vs procold were dont exactly as it says..stock box, stock filter with about 100 miles to it. Looks like our test subject isnt able to come this weekend, so im gonna go grab a brand new truck from the dealer and hopefully have a couple board members stop by to verify the results.

Wish I could make it this weekend, oh well
If you grab a new truck, wont that be the same thing you did previously?
You already have dyno charts for that comparision. I still would like to see what my volant vs procold vs stock would show.

Maybe another time.

Todd has offered for me to test it on my '02 Denali 6.0.

I have the Hypertech Power Programmer III and a Flowmaster cat-back. I'll do a back to back test, including A/F. The truck is not stock obviously, but it's close enough that it should certainly still show similar gains. I'll post back within a few days! Thanks Todd!
