Pre 01 had the cranshaft made with the longer snout so you can't just pull a spacer to and throw a 4l60e behind it.
THERE IT IS!! Getting my engines mistaken for my transmissions.

to tell when it was made, there is a code on the front side of the block...PM hirdlej and he can figure it for you or just search on that subject...he figured out mine for me...

and a LQ4 can have 317s on it too...you use your same wiring harness and everything...just have your tuner update your existing PCM...

Just went through trying to figure this out with jtbrewer about 2 weeks ago, spent a week doing some google searching, searched a bunch of engine mechanical info, checked engine builder's literature, until he finally found out on Tech that the 99-00 LQ4 would not mate up to a 60E. I had thought that you could possibly pull the spacer to get it to work, but evidentally someone tried and the snout of the early crank is just too long and will not work. The way I understand it is that someone found out the hard way.

Do you know of someone for sure who has mated a 99-00 6.0 to a 60E? I'd like a solid answer to this question once and for all.

*EDIT* I just re-read your post and realized that you did answer my question...no spacer to remove, so the info I have is correct
