If you own these sizes you can basically do most work on them
It's not the physically removing and replacing I'm concerned about as I have the tools and knowledge to do so, it's the making sure I have everything on hand to make the truck run and drive properly once it's swapped. It's always the little things I might have missed with a wire, connector, correct tune, one gem came with a bolt hole and another didn't or want ever someone forgot to mention. I just find it really hard to believe that a 5.3 intake will fit on a 6.0, but if the only thing is different is the bore and stroke I guess y'all know better than I.

One thing nice about all those Hondas and Acuras the motors and trannys bolt right up with some wiring differences.

So far the only thing that isn't a direct fit is a 80E in the place of a 60E and there are some wiring mods.

Not just youngins mess with imports, there are plenty of old and young messing with some big imports like Supras or Lexus, Nissan, BMW, Audi.....lots of big power there.

Ok. I trust you guys since this seems to be the consistent answer. Now I just gotta get one :-).

That's a good question. I do t have a budget in mind since I'd probably be buying everything as time goes. Truck $8k-$10k, motor/trans - $6000, rear end $1000, then what ever a future turbo kit might cost.

All wiring, ECU, throttle cable/DBW connection, etc was absolutely flawless????!!!!!!!!

Outside of retuning my VE table, yes.

It really IS this easy.

Absolutely everything off of the 5.3 will bolt directly to a 6.0 harness PCM everything are exactly the same. Seeing as you are looking in the pre 07 then you need either a LQ4 or LQ9 6.0 Lq9 being preferable. Call scoggin dickey brand new ready to roll gm crate motor with a warranty. Drop it in take truck get it tuned by a custom tuner rock n roll. easy peasy

You can put in newer 6.0's and 6.2's and they are better performance wise but require more in getting intakes fuel systems and pcm's to cooperate.

So after believing everyone I decided to do another check and see what GM part #s cross reference and it all 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 part number are all the same. GM is awesome for that reason. I'm just so surprised to go from a 4.8 to a 6.0 in displacement they still use the same intake and TB.
