Default place to purchase a Long block?

After all of my research and decisions I'm going with a 5.3 instead of the 6.0 just because of all the possibilities of things that don't fit up from a 5.3 to a 6.0. I seem to have that problem with swaps, as this will be my third type of swap.

Anyways, I'm debating the question to buy a long block or rebuild and whats the most reliable option for a boosted DD. If I buy a long block I would pull the cam and put a performance LS7 or something with springs of course and some studs and maybe a LQ9 head gasket.

Does anyone have a suggestion on a reman company like Jegs or Jasper or ATK(I didn't see any LM7 or LQ4 or whatever all they are :-) just a 407 long block for $4200, or where to buy from GM directly?

Youve done 3 swaps and youre afraid that 5.3 parts wont bolt to a 6.0??

Yes. I know it sounds rediculous but I've already read people having problems with swapping motors let alone parts from a 5.3 to a 6.0. I've only swapped a B16A2 into a 97 civic hatch and axles didn't match, electrical problems due to Japanese version and American car and some wiring issues with the civic model I had were an issue. I did a corvette LT1/T-56 swap into a 92 FSC because it has the AC compressor mounted on top so I wouldn't have to notch the frame and it has 20 more HP than the others. Both were supposed to be really easy but no one told me half of the instrument cluster wouldn't work, modifying the truck 5-speed pedal assembly and wouldn't hook up to the clutch master cylinder line, the VSS would t work, some other wiring problems even with the painless wiring harness, ecu wasn't programmed right, all sorts of issues.

I don't mind issues I just don't want them all to happen as a surprise and while I'm trying to do the swap in a week. I just don't have good luck with swaps unless it's the same motor. I'm really skeptical about putting a 4L80E, but apparently there is no 4L60E that will hold up.

Maybe someone could give me some proof they will match up. Either way I would still want a rebuilt one or a reman ready for the install if I decided not to rebuild the 5.3.

As long as you get the same generation blocks, everything is the same. What are you putting the motor in?

I don't see the relevance here and I don't know if this is going to be a good or bad thing, I'm 34. I feel old :-)
