Hey stone, since your in Houston, a short trip to San Antonio to visit Nelson and have him hook you up with a street tune would do your truck alotta good.

Shorties are a waste because your stock exhaust manifolds are pretty good, and you would get negligible gains from them. Seriously, either go long tubes or go home. It won't be easy to run 14s in the Z-71.

A custom PCM tune is worth around 30-35 rwhp (thats what mine resulted in). In order, i would do the following:

tune
long tubes
magnaflow catback
intake tube (CAI doesn't do jack, just change the tube between the box and the throttle body.
tune last IMO. youll get the most out of it if you tune after the supporting mods. since your in texas get a nelson tune for sure. nothing beats a hands on tune

well that is good bec i am mostly in College Station. but that won't be till atleast till jan if i can pay off the truck., cam i get the eqr removed with a nelson tune?

yep. you make/buy a blockoff plate for the exhaust. buy a blockoff for your intake and tell allen that you deleted it and he will take care of the codes.

All you have to use is a freeze plug. (I dont remember what size)
