Default oil temp gauge

Where is the best place to install a oil temp gauge on a 6.0

I was thinking putting a tee on the oil on cooler line after it goes through it

oil filter sandwhich plate, or something like that. They are all over ebay and are all the same pretty much. The adapter piece you need is 13/16-16

which is gonna make me ask again, do our trucks have an oil cooler temp sensor somewhere? The ECU can read oil temp in Hptuners, but I read somewhere that reading is just a "guess" or something like that, can someone confirm this?

On hptuners they take ambient temp and coolant temp to guess oil temp

I used a lingenfelter thingie.
I also added a huge oil cooler when I had the turbo. Now my oil never gets hot enough. about 140 degrees is it, Unless I really ride it hard for a little while.

whats the point? this cannot by any chance have any accuracy at all, however its using more than just those parameters to calculate oil temp.

Id go WOT, the oil temp would rise quick, ill cruise for a while on the highway and it DOESNT drop, then when I stop for a while idling the temps would start dropping. not sure, but if thats the case then I definitely need an oil temp gauge, im ordering an expensive custom Ron Davis radiator with a built in oversized EOC and TOC + high-speed fans for this truck all based on the hptuners oil temp numbers.

That is what I was told so I don't know for a fact. But the only real way to know is a oil gauge...
