Grinder self tap sheet metal screws
I ran in to the same problem. I cut my gas pedal off and used two self tapping sheet metal screws to mount the new dbw pedal and two tack welds just to be safe. I have not had any problems in 15 months and drive it every day. The only other option pull the column and that big metal bracket. I was not willing to do that especially the truck was sitting there at idle. I was ready to test drive it.

pretty much
As far as I can think of everything should be the same alternator maybe different but, crank, cam, map, maf, will be the same. 02 sensors maybe different plug as well as injectors if it was flex fuel.

dying on me
Okay so i have 2005 Silverado 4.3 5 spd and did the 5.3 4l60 swap. Got a complete swap from a 2002 Silverado. so my problem now is it will run and drive but if you give it to much gas it dies. so at this moment i am unsure if the problem lies in the connector going into the fuse box being pinned differently considering the fuse boxes are different from a 2002 and 2006. i already did a bunch of repining to get it to turn key and fire off but now i am here. so has anyone had this problem? if so i need to get a wiring harness out of an 04-06? could it be a tune issue? any help would be greatly appreciated thank you all!!!!

I have an 07 classic that I'm putting in a 5.3 from an 05 suburban. I grabbed the trans with it for simplicity of the swap. Both are return less fuel so that makes that simple. Both already came set up to run e-fans so that helps too. My questions are, will the frame mounts for the suburban work for the silverado or must they be silverado mounts?
also... where does this connect? I don't think I see one on my v6... though I haven't pulled it yet to be sure.
and what the hell is this even?
Comes from the trans.

1. Is the EVAP hose that leads back to the tank. On the V8's the 3/8th feed line and the EVAP line come up together on the rear of the motor.
2. That is just the breather for the transmission, they place it there so it's far above the fluid level to vent it and to not get crap around it and plug it up.
