Default Nnbs 6.2, Opinion on CNC'd ported heads during cam swap

Im finally ready to pull the trigger and cam my 2010 Denali. At first I was just going to get a off the shelf vvt cam and call it good. But I decided I want to do it right so im not disappointed later. I think I decided to call and get Pat G to spec me a cam. I started looking at the CNC ported ls3/l92 heads offered from GMPP, PRC, Lingenfelter, etc (any others?) I've read that they aren't worth it, I've also read that they are a good bang for the buck. Then if do get these heads, maybe get them milled a bit to bump the compression up. And also get good converter. What are yalls thoughts?

I don't see you outflowing the stock heads with what you want done, you are better off saving your money and spending it elsewhere.

The factory heads are already so good, just work with what you have.

Would it be worth it to get a custom spec cam? Or just call Texas speed for a shelf cam like a vvt3?

Hey brother if your looking for a camshaft and a verter I've got something you may want to check out in the for sale section, it's a new custom cut comp cam and everything to install and a bad *** yank verter, I've put the verter in the truck but I can pull it out, the truck ran 8.40 with 20in drag radials bumping the rev limiter on the one two shift, I think it can go some 20's with the shift points adjusted, hit me up if your interested. THANKS!

Is it a DOD motor? If so you gotta pull the heads anyway so Id upgrade. If not then no way id pull them off.

Im in your same exact boat.. and after a ton of research i have came with this conclusion..... On a cam only 6.2 the gains are just not worth the money unless you got plenty and want to spend it... most ive seen realistically only pick up 10-15 hp more for like 1500-2000k worth of CNC heads..i would rather take that and put it towards my new TVS2300

Vortex350ss- I just have VVT in mine.
And fillpot I'll look into your stuff!

I talked to Texas speed today about their head exchange. From what I'm understanding is that, I can order their ported l92 style head (paying full price) then once I get them, I send them my stock heads back. I will then be refunded a "core" price. They said just the heads should cost me 500ish + the valve springs and valves I choose. But I get back with them to make sure. Right now I know Imma get comps trunion upgrade, dual springs .660, hardened pushrods, oil pump and looking to get a vvt cam around a vvt3/4. Or maybe even then night fury vvt cam
