If you would put it in and run it the ring stains wouldn't be a problem

My dad told me that we should do a mild hone on it, and I take his word as the gospel. I was hoping to just slap it together and roll with it, but he recommended against it. The block's been sitting for over 5 years at his shop, and unfortunately, I didn't do the right thing and turn it over periodically. At least in the end, when it's all done, I know that everything will be checked out and replaced if necessary...I wasn't too keen on the condition of the cam bearings anyway, so I would have had to tear it down to replace those anyway, if I'm not mistaken.
