Default New engine. Now no gears

2014 Silverado 6.2L. Just got my new engine in. Was out test driving. Everything was working good I suddenly lost all gears. It’s like it is in neutral when in any gear. There was no slippage before and there are no codes. I tried various 4x4 modes and nothing changed. It didn’t feel like the 4x4 was shifting at all. Anyone have similar issues?

Did you check the transmission fluid level?

Yep. It actually looks a little over filled. Signs of a bad pump, but there are no codes.

Was the convertor un seated or was it left in when the engine was pulled? Did you check convertor depth?

Converter came out with the motor, but I did have a tough time getting it seated back in. I have thought about that damaging the pump. Gonna unhook a line they check flow when I get back to it.

Always measure converter depth, especially if you don't feel like it's all the way in. If you can't measure it, make sure you can freely spin the converter once the trans is up against the block and preferably before tightening the bell housing bolts. There should be a small amount of gap between the converter pads and flex plate when the trans is fully seated against the block.

Did the trans fully seat against the block or did you have to pull it up to the block using the bolts?

Did you have to fight the converter to rotate it to line up the bolt holes?

I made the mistake of drawing it in.

Likely a busted pump then.
