Question New Designed Dynatechs Question

What exactly did they do to the redesigned headers???
I still have a set of their headers in the box.
Do you think they would trade them out for the better ones?
Did this problem go for all the truck engines or just the 4.8 & 5.3L engines?

I must be out of the loop, what's the problem? I've got a used set in the garage waiting to go on my 5.3.

edit: OK, I found the other thread. Just problems with #5 and #7 plug wires.

Really not a problem in my opinion. Just a revision.

Does Dynatech know that thier headers do not work on the 4wd 2500's ??....or at least the '99 2500's as I found out the hard way. (I've tried both the old style and the new "4x4" style and niether will fit without frame and tranny mods)

Just spoke with Dynatech. The guy I was speaking with told me that the headers I have, will not work. He said that the dealer I purchased from did not know what he was selling me (MTI) .
At first he told me to deal through them, then he said that he would just swap them out directly for me.
He said that the design that I have, will rub the frame a tad or touch the firewall. He also said that it would also have the #5 & #7 plug wire problem.
I'm glad I keep up to date with the threads here, because I would have never known til it was too late.
Just to think I almost sent them off to Jet-Hot to be coated! Then I would have been stuck with the coated headers without being able to return them.
Thanks guys for posting about this!
I believe the gratitude goes towards BlownChevy for uncovering this finding!

Thumbs up

Dynatech will be swapping my set out with a new redesigned set for a charge of $250! Though when I get the new ones back, they will be Jet-Hot coated as well!
Dynatech has great customer support & services!

I like I asked before, you think they will take back mine? They are only slightly used (35K miles) and have notches in them where the driveshaft yoke hits and the frame rubbed spots of course.

No. If any of their product used or modified in anyway, it will not be accepted in return for a swap. If there product is modified in anyway, they will not warranty it either.
Sorry man. Your out of luck on this one.

thanks jim. I am just poking fun. I am smart enough to know it isn't going back. (nevermind on that smart enough thing ) FWW the only modifing on it is the chunks of metal taken out of it by the driveshaft.
