Default need some help tuning cam

ok i am in the process of installing a custom grind comp cam
214-220 559-564 116
any one give me any ideas what i need to change in my tune using edit.
i have my shift points up with my rev limiter up to about 6300

That cam looks familiar. I bet it will run very good on the juice. It won't need very much tuning to run well.

Set your idle rpms at 700. In the lower temp range, the value will be higher, so leave them, just change them when they drop below.

You may want to start with shifts in the 6200 range. Move your rev limiter over to 6500. That way if the trans gets sloppy on the spray, you won't hit the limiter. I've had my trans slip several hundred rpms while spraying.

Just curious mwalls - you replacing the retainers and pushrods, or just the springs?

just springs this time, and replacing the retainers that the suspension eats when i drop them.

Hey walls, if I remember correctly, didn't you have a soldering iron at the track meet?
I know this sounds like it has nothing to do with tuning, lol. Just wondering.

soldering iron??

There was an article I remember parish posting about on another board that had some good info on it. Basically they raised the idle air tables some, raised the idle, and adjusted the VE in the lower rpm's. THey also adjusted timing at low rpm's too.
