Don't touch cables together!!! You can burn up computer's on newer vehicles.

Stepping on the brake pedal will safely discharge the electrical system with out causing any damage.

Neither me nor a friend at a local shop have had any issue with it. And that accounts for hundreds of vehicles. Not all gm but 90%.

i can see how if this was done while still connected to the battery it would cause all sorts of issues.

Oh hell yeah lol. youd make an 8mm battery/wrench hybrid.
No i mean after they are disconnected.
Either way, at least remove from battery

Would the pcv valve not being in the valve cover cause the oil pressure gage to act all funky?

Not oil pressure but would cause odd fueling.

Well I have been getting funky readings and it bouncing around sometimes, and the fuel mpg have been kinda off. I changed the oil pressure switch maybe a year ago, but didnt fully tighten it because I was afraid of breaking it. Guess its time for a new one.
