how about the spring inside of a lifter?

nope not the spring in the lifter, too big as I under stand, I was going to pull the valve covers tonight but ended up working 14 hours lol and looks like that will continue untill 18 days from now. Thanks for everyones opinion, but still no answers untill I can open the valve covers. I just hope and pray its that simple.

They are threads from the pan plug insert.

I have a stock lifter I can cut open for you if need be Kevin. I would think you would have more a grinding noise with the roller gone off the end of it to allow the spring to come out. IDK Kev you screwed it up real good

Interesting suggestion! All he need to do to test that theory is line the pieces up on the same size/pitch bolt and see if the pieces can be made to line up at all...
