Maybe the outside of a bearing race from one of the rocker arms ??

still way to small to be the inner spring.

you might be onto something, I think i heard somthing break when i put the one in the back on the driver side. Well I will have to look at it on friday.

is there any type of washers where the bolt goes into the pan? like some kind of soft metal gasket attached to either the bolt, or the pan...for some reason i want to say theres something there but im probably wrong. if it is what im guesssing, there would be nothing wrong, but i would have to go pull my plug and check for anything like that and i dont have money for more mobile1

nope no washer on the oil pan bolt.

looks like the nut between the steering wheel, and the gas pedle finally broke

That's the only semi logical thing I can think of, a rocker arm coming apart. If that was the case though, you should see some needle bearings in there soemewhere.
