Yeah you know I did notice that even here in CA I dont see it much. the factory lq9 manifolds didnt have it and it was a CA vehicle, maybe they did away with it in 02. I always wanted to take it off but i'm sure they would know that its supposed to have the AIR and fail me at the smog shop.. Damn CA, can't wait to start working on my 67 camaro again! (smog exempt!)

Yeah brother, those Cali smog laws suck for sure...and spot smog checks too right!?

"Smog Exempt" sounds awesome though

Got it started up yesterday! Oil pressure jumped up to spec within 4 seconds, lifters were pretty loud but started quieting down after about a minute or so. No bearing noise or metal in the oil after warm up/cool down. You can definatley hear the difference from the 5.3, this 6.0 rumbles!

Everything sounds good and seems to be running fine except when i rev the engine the rpms stay up for about 5-10 seconds before slowly dropping down to idle. I'm not sure if its normal to do that untill you drive it for a bit but its still doing it after 10 minutes of driving, what could be causing this? its literally almost power braking at stop lights because of it revving. I have a cable driven throttlebody and I know the throttle butterfly is closing so what could it be? maybe a bad idle air valve ot throttle position sensor or something? My jeep used to have the same issue and it was usually the ide air valve. Let me know what you guys think? I'm planning on doing the smog and registration this week so Im hoping to figure it out in the next day or so.

Yeah, you'll have to.

I'd drive it some more before you do so that you can see if anything else needs tweaking.
