I'm sure there is an answer to this somewhere but im impatient. What's the most you can mill off 862 heads on a 4.8? I have to replace some noisy lifters that have been bothering me for a while and i picked up another set of 862 heads cheap.Just need an answer before i drop them off at the machine shop. I also plan on doing a camshaft while im replacing lifters, not sure what cam yet though. Just looking to increase compression a little i guess. Thanks

I like the 212/218 low-lift,it proved itself to me with very good results in my 5.3
212/218 low-lift and mill the heads .040 with a set of long tubes should be a good combo on a 4.8
A set of 3.73-4.10 gears would really compliment the combo since you dont want a stall.
4.8 already lacks lowend from the small cubic inches

Sounds good, i'd like to make close to 300 hp at the wheels, im sure it's not easy on a 4.8. People tell me to swap it for a 6 liter but im not swapping it til the 4.8 dies first. If i did do a converter what stall would work best?
