Default LT's VS. TRI-Y

Im thinking about getting a set of headers shortly. I was planning on getting some Pacesetter LT's but I know someone who is gettting rid of a set of Thorly tri Y's and was wondering how big of a difference I will notice if any?

I don't know anything about the pacesetters other than some people don't like them. I have the tri-y's, and like them a lot. They're a good gauge and I haven't found them to be noisy. Performance-wise, you'll notice a difference, esp. if you couple those headers with a good exhaust system.

everyone I talked to said they work very well for low end and midrange... i was about to get those but then found a set of asm's for like 300bucks lol

only plus to pacesetter is that they make a ory pipe to match theirs I think. Any other and you will have to cut the exhuast and make them work

Talk to SlowProcess, I'm pretty sure that he's running the Thorleys on his TR224 cammed 6.0. I remember him mentioning that he was very happy with them.

I am really satisfied with the Thorleys! I felt more of my gains in the mid/upper rpm. They seem to be very high quality and the price is unbeatable, IMO. I would spring for the ceramic coating, unless you like the "blued" look. Overall, I'm extremely glad I made the purchase.

Ive got the Thorleys on my truck now and I was very happy with them. Unfortunately the retard that put them on welded them to my cats and now I have to throw them away as Im going catless. I went with the Pacesetters since they had the larger 3" collectors and the Y pipe is an easy bolt up. Im just too lazy to get in there and install everything that is sitting in various parts of my house

i don't know too much about the tri y's however the pacesetters are easy to install and very straight forward. also the stock catback bolts up to the y-pipe if you get it.

I would just get the pacesetters and get dual exhaust to help the 6L breathe for future mods a y-pipe is going to be a bottle neck with the mods that you will eventually have IMO.

What do you mean welded to cats. Im kinda a rookie but cant you just cut them off and weld to stock pipe?? If so ill take them!! Just pm me and let me know what youre talking about. I dont see why you cant just weld them to the pipe? Please respond!
Thanks,
Derek
