Didnt get much done today. Still waiting on pistons to soak.
I painted the front and rear covers for busy work.
And I picked up the rest of the parts from my buddy/dealer.
I should, and its a big should, have the front end of the motor together tomorrow.

Got back from football game in another town today.
All I could think about the past 2 days was getting some work done on this thing. Well that and the hot red head band booster lady.....but thats another story.

Well the soak didn't go so well. Still has some carbon on them. I am going to hose them off tomorrow since its already getting late.
I did get the cam retaining plate on, but then remembered I broke my T40 star bit on the exhaust on my Dodge. So the plate it just finger tite right now. Ill hit Lowes tomorrow and get a new one.
I did get some red RTV and was able to apply it, and torque down the side bolts.
Sorry for no pics. Really looks the same as it did the other day.

Any progress on your build?

Have you ever built an engine before?
Just curious, I'm about to start a build myself.

No real work recently. Work has been kicking my butt. Im in Panama City FL for an unknown time right now. And I'm up for a good promotion. If I get it, I'll be getting better rods/pistons.
Yes I have built all kinds of Chevy and Ford motors. Used to be big into LT1s.

I hear yah about being busy at work.
That's great, good luck, I hope it goes in your favor.

I figured, hah. I have zero experience and am a little intimidated.

What rods and pistons are you going to get if everything goes through?

Food for thought.......Everyone that has built their first engine had never built one prior to that. Go for it, read, ask questions and just do it. Hell you have YouTube now. How did we pull it off in the olden times, I don't remember!

Thanks Fedup, I appreciate the encouraging words. I've been reading a ton and am about to start a build thread to get even more answers. Maybe you can come over and help me out, I don't want to jack SWINGRRRRs thread.
I'll probably start it tomorrow.

Thanks again
