Mechanical failure. Didn't sound like a miss at all. Other than the noise, the engine actually felt like it was running fine. It was a loud tapping/thunking noise that changed with RPM.

That sucks... I just got my 408 in and tuned and would hate to have something like that go wrong after only two days of driving. Just to be on the safe side I installed the highest flowing injectors at the back two cylinders(#7 & #8). When you get yours back from the tester do the same and it will keep those cylinders just a hair richer.

Yeah that's what I plan on doing with the injectors. They were supposed to be flow matched, but hopefully there is at least one that is marginally higher than the rest.

The engine itself has about 15,000 miles on it. I just got it back on the road from a broken tranny, then broke the engine

Dustin, I talked to Richard @ WCCH this morning and he said that even if the heads are beat up they can weld the chamber and run the CNC program on it again and fix it.

I think I'm going to take this opportunity to do some more upgrading. Looking at replacing all the stock fuel lines, getting a Vic Jr intake manifold with a 4 barrel throttle body, billet fuel rails, and external boost referenced FPR.

External means separate from the fuel rail

Boost referenced means that fuel pressure increases 1:1 with boost pressure.

The stock FPR on a return system is the same style.

YOUR TRUCK IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE A RACECAR!!!!...if you can remove the fuel lines without alot of damage...i really could use the return side fuel line....then i could just convert mine......let me know!

Instead off working of the manifold pressured work off boost pressure to increase the fuel pressure in the fuel rails?

Same thing...manifold pressure = boost pressure.
