The cables are the same and HPtuners scanning software can be used for a crank relearn. His F-body sofeware can scan your truck, but won't write your PCM.

That's perfect. We know he can't write my PCM. He wrote the original tune for my 6.0 but couldn't load it into my PCM, other guy had the truck cables and.... (long story). So John02SS (the guy who's helping me out) was gonna test it out on his truck tomorrow and see if it works. I guess I'll be driving there tomorrow and getting it done. Do you think this crank position relearn will help very much in the idle relearn and all that or is this really just a formality to erase the code?

Hptuners can scan any ORBII vehical,it should work. The crank relearn will probably allow the PCM to use it's learning mode to stabilize your tuning. It sure can't hurt.

I have been looking into this as I am going to need to have it done as well. From what I found, HPT V1.6 would do a Crank Relearn but they haven't unlocked that feature in the V2.0 that I have.

that "blower idle knock" sounds familiar - exhaust/cam sounds good

I replaced the Crank Pos. Sensor with the one from the 5.3 and erased the code. I never swapped the one from the 5.3 to the 6.0 just left the one that came with the 6L on. I have not gotton the code again and its been drivin a few times. Still runs like *** and dies from time to time. Got about 100 miles on the tune.

I know, I hate it. I never got an answer from anyone about that hurting the internal rotors, slapping together like that. I am gonna turn the idle up I think when I get the tune tweaked. Not sure, maybe getting the injectors at the right flow rate will eliminate most of the problems.

Won't HP Tuners do a re-learn?
That actually seems reasonable, my local Hobby Shop here in Altus wanted $40 just to hook up their snap-on scanner to my truck, no guarantees on whether they could even operate it.

Mine has never knocked. I have my idle set at 900 though.

The hobby shop at Tyndall tried that on me once. Wanted $25 I think just to plug in and read the code. I told they were retarded, Autozone does that for free! My hobby shop on Hurlburt Field hands YOU the scanner and lets you do what you want, for free.
