Chris, Man it sucks they missed the tune. They should have just copied my tune and been done with it, I sure wouldn't have cared. I'll give you a call tomorrow and we can discuss getting that thing tuned. I should have the truck software pretty quick. Prolly just pick up the needed years for now and expand them later, but we need to get it yours going right! Don't worry about the idle, I can fix that really easy. The injectors being off will make it really rich at part throttle and idle. Another easy fix though.

I just took it for another 5 mile spin to put a heat cycle on the springs...died about 20 times but actually I think its getting better I did a couple of part throttle runs I'm gonna like this 6L thingy. I didn't even get under boost and I was pushed back in my seat more than WOT in the 5.3. Maybe I'm just used to driving the stock Silverado all week HA HA HA!!! Took it up to 3500 and barely broke even on the vacuum/boost gauge. Time to pulley DOWN!!!

If you can't get all the tuning right or loose your patience then maybe Gomer can help you. Maybe he might meet you half way, Mongomery maybe? Maybe there is a dyno there too. PM on ls1tech or gen3performance.net.
Glad to hear its running!

Thanks MJ, John02SS can do the tuning but I'd rather have it on a dyno. If not a dyno then I at least want a wideband hooked up. John can do that as well. I'm gonna let the PCM try to learn a little more and see what she does. I am going to try and get my Predator unlocked so I can use it to receive and download tunes from John and Westers and then put them in the truck. No more long drives or shipping fees.

Very exciting stuff and it's where I hope to be next year at this time. I signed up for a college course in head blueprinting and porting/polish and then next summer and fall the engine blueprinting, machining, and tuning courses. The school is in the process of getting a new state of the art chassis dyno!! Pretty cool to be able to learn all this new stuff in my 60's. Keeps you young hangin with all you "kids" ( ) and learning all this new stuff.

I'm still on the fence regarding software... HP or EFI Live. Which does John use? Thanks, Jim

On the way to work, between dying, surging and just all around pissing me off it threw this at me. P0335 Crank Sensor Position A Circuit Malfunction. Is this just the crank re-learn? I know my local shop has a Snap-On scanner, big red one but I dont know the model #. Think that will reset it? Or do I have to go to the dealership? What problems will this code cause?

is your truck drive by wire or cable? i think that code is for the crank learn. call the place that has the snap on and ask them if they can do it if not then off to the dealer.

Mines drive by wire, no cables. I'll call them but they may not know how to do it....just because they have one doesnt mean they know how to use it. Its a hobby shop on a military base.

ahh i see. i dont think a dealer charges that much to do it if you have to go there. i know when i had the cam in my truck i had to give it throttle to keep it running and i just adjusted the idle and it ran fine after that. good luck with it
