Default Lets Play Name That Broken Part, Chapter 2, The Install

For all of you who were following the "Lets Play Name That Broken Part" thread, this is part 2.

Today we finished up all the nit picky crap, filled up the fluids and turned it over. She started up first try Of course I couldn't do anything else with it except let it idle because I haven't got the tune for the 6L yet. In fact as soon as I gave it gas up to 1000rpm and then let off it died I guess that's what happens when you run your 34# injector tune when you have 48# injectors installed. Also got a 0300 random misfire code. Cleared that and haven't restarted yet. I am trying to get the tuner to get off his *** and do his job. (Not John for those who may know what shop I'm talking about) The file has been written I just cant get the guy with the cables to meet me and flash my PCM. Long story...so the Tahoe sits around at the shop until Saturday..... if I get the tune by then.

Do you have any tuning software or are you going to buy a mail order tune?

No software but I'm looking into it. The guy who did my last dyno tune, we'll call him John, has written me a new tune for this set up but he lives over an hour away. The shop he works at is another 45 minutes from him so almost a 2 hour drive for me to get to the dyno. He has done the equivalent of a mail order tune to get me going until I can get to the dyno but the person he works with has the cables needed to flash a PCM directly (the actaul PCM removed from the truck) and that person, we'll call him James, won't do what he needs to do to take care of his customers. I've talked to him a few times and he always says "I'll call you back" or "We'll met today" or whatever and I never hear from him again. I have had this PCM out and waiting for a flash since the 17th so I've been getting th runaround for about a week. Venting...

Thanks. I haven't done anything too crazy with it. I put a 210/218 .551 48* 112lsa cam in, dual valve springs with titanium retainers, the Radix is back on with 49# injectors, and I am going to pulley down to get about 8 pounds. I put in a blueprinted oil pump, Katech rod bolts, and I do have a wet kit sitting in the garage. I still am debating installing that or selling it. We'll see how she runs without it first. I still have to put on the inline fuel pump and voltage booster. I also have 14" Baer rotors and Hawk pads to go on. I could probably spend another whole day at the shop but I need to get my ride back and then finish up the little stuff as I have time.

Cool, glad to hear that you got it fired up...that sounds like the Vinci 062 specs...I'm curious how that's gonna run in a 6.0, should have a nice flat torque curve and great bottom
