Dealership said they could do it. One for $40 and can't get to it until Friday, the other $70 and can do it tomorrow. How do they sleep at night? As soon as I said engine swap they almost hung up, WTF is it about dealerships, they act like they don't know how to work on something unless they can follow the manual step by step, don't they have actual mechanics who understand engine operation? Won't HP Tuners do a re-learn?

Well I have about 65 total miles on the new tune now and I think it is getting better. I just dont see how it can get perfect if the crank position sensor is off like my SES is telling me. Can the crank sensor re-learn itself over time and I just erase the SES code or do I HAVE to get it done with a Tech II?

Nothing much, 45 seconds of the initial start-up. Just to prove we did it!

If someone in your area has EFIlive software they can do the crank relearn in about 2 minutes,it's really simple.Post over in the PCM tuning forum on LS1tech,I bet someone with an F-body has that software.Basicly all they have to do is scan your PCM scroll to the relearn program and slowly bring up the revs until PCM relearns the crank position sensor.

I know a guy with HP Tuners who said he would do it. But, he only has F-body cables and wasn't sure if they would read my PCM. I imagine the connection point is the same shape/size but he wasn't sure if all the pins matched up etc...Has anyone ever done it with HPT and F-body cables or does the program not care since it's not actually "tuning"? Did that make sense?
