Lets Play Name That Broken Part, Chapter 2, The Install

Chris,
Whole situations sucks man. Just one of the reasons I'm no longer an employee there. As I said today on the phone, anything I can do just holla. As soon as you hear back from either of the two options I'll met where ever we need to met to tune the truck for you. We can then take it to Adams Auto in Crestview and dyno tune it. Look forward to getting this nightmare taken care of for you.

Whats up John?
I got a line on a base tune. Westers is gonna hook me up. I should get it Monday. I sent them the file you sent me to look at. I will still want to tweak it with you and get the AFR readings sometime soon. A dyno tune might not be required. We'll see when it gets here. I just cant' get over how James at Runnin with the devil can stay in business treating customers (Repeat customers no less) as if he could give a
if your car runs or not. It boggles my mind. Open your own shop and put him out of business.
I'll get with you in a few days and will work on it.
Thanks again for being the stand up guy and taking care of the part you could control.

The build is done. I just need a PCM that can run it which should be in tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm actually going to shop in about 20 minutes to clean up and get everything squared away. Should have pictures, possibly a vid this week. :-) Some of the supporting mods still need hooked up...tranny cooler, inline fuel pump, new rotors and pads. But I will get to those later in the week. I just wont beat on it until I get it all finished. I have to run the springs through a few heat cycles anyway....I will keep ya posted.

OK everybody put on your thinking caps. Got it running today. Here's the problems, yes plural.
1. The TC or something, has a slight vibration at around 40 or 50 if you apply light throttle to say pass someone. I may have overfilled the tranny a little. Not sure if that would be an issue or could it just be air in the lines. It wasn't a bad vibration but I let out at the first sign of it so I dont know if it would get worse with more throttle applied.
2. The sucker is loud. It's like the Magnaflow is not even there. I may have an exhaust leak but haven't checked yet. The Predator was showing matching LT fuel trims at first but now they seem to be off a little. One is -8.59 and the other would be -13.xx The drone sounds like my buddies Dodge with the 4.7/Flowmaster...really loud and not much power coming out of it. To be honest it feels much weaker than the 5.3 right now. I am still keeping it under 2500rpm because of the new springs.
3. Idles like crap, dies if I don't apply throttle as I approach stop signs or going around turns. When it does die, I restart. The 1st restart it shoots up to 1500rpm and then dies again. The 2nd restart it goes to about 1000 and eases back to 500-600 and holds. I know I need the idle turned up. See problem 4.
4. My tuner misunderstood the 42# injectors to be GM and not Ford. So my 42# Fords are pulsing as if they were GM. Meaning I'm pig rich. He is already aware and going to adjust this but its mail order so I have to live with it for awhile. Is this my idle/slow down and die issue?
Got some tweaking to do. And this all of course happens 3 days after the local dyno tuner quit at the place with the dyno. So before you tell me to go get a dyno tune, I can't Or I would already be there. Lets have some answers...GO!

I will chime in on problem 3 - it could be the injectors but most likely it just has alot of learning to do. Mine took a good 250 miles to learn to idle after my cam swap, it was especially bad when stopping in reverse, it would always die. So dont get too discouraged just yet about the idle. Good luck with it, once its running good it will be a screamer

Sounds reasonable. I only put 20 miles on it driving home. But I did let it run for at least 30 minutes after I installed the PCM at idle in the shop. It will hold an idle fine once you get it there. It just doesn't like to get there.
P.S. A vid is optimizing.

I will agree with you on RWTD's customer service sucking hard core. They sent me a dynojet wideband commander with the white face when ordered the black took them 4weeks to send me a replacement AFTER they recieved the white face gauge.
Good luck on getting it run right. The tc thing may be that it has air in the converter. Thats what I was told anyway when that same thign happened it went awy after a few miles of driving. Also of the 3 aftermarket tc's I ahve had in my truck at lock up they would vibrate a bit when locked.
