I told Joe Vinci all about my setup and the 62 is what he suggested. I was looking at the Ultra Tq which is a 210/218 48* overlap and 116lsa. He said I'd be better off with the one I got. I told him I would be going for 8-9 pounds of boost (just in case I do go that high). Maybe that is why he recommended the 62 over the Ultra Tq. Whitt1, why don't you come down here and help me put this all together? I'll pay for your hotel room. 3 days should be long enough and you can hang at the beach bars afterwards

EDIT: both cams are a .551 lift

Joe Vinci is more familar with centrifical superchargers they make boost that is more referenced to engine speed than a Radix which makes at lower revs. His 62 grind would be perfect for a ProCharger setup making 8-9lb of boost.

I figured he would know about the Radix. They install them there all day long. Maybe he did think I was talking centrifugal. Maybe I should give him a ring. You think the other cam was better suited o the radix, ultra tq? So, you don't want to come down and help?

Thanks for the offer, but there's no way I can get away from my business this time of the year.Give Joe Vinci a call and see if he has ever installed a cam in a Radix setup I doubt he has.I think the Ultra torque cam is better suited to your Radix, especially in a heavy Tahoe.

What whitt is saying makes sense. The LPE GT2-3 has 118 LSA and was designed with the Radix in mind. A 112 LSA works great for an N/A setup but with a blower you do have bleed-off to think about. I remember Cam Motion telling me that 114 is about as low as I could go without having to be concerned.

I guess I will call tomorrow. You would think a guy who grinds cams for a living would know what he was talking about. Maybe I should talk to Roger Vinci.

at 050 your cam shows -10deg overlap so its not so terrible, just not ideal, overlap area is the real concern as I don't think Cranes lobes are all that aggressive(typically more overlap) compared to an XER lobe or similiar lobe. Seems the radix likes about -20deg overlap from what I've seen.
BlownChevy and CHarris are making excellent power with their LPE gt2-3 @ -20plus deg overlap. Naked AV has been happy with his selection as well, I believe his is right at -20deg overlap as well. There's alot more to it than that, but it might be safe to say in your case your target overlap @ 050 is around -20deg to work Very well with the Radix. Even LPE's GT-7 has over -20deg overlap and is often recommended by them for a Radix application.

Of course the Cam I selected only has -8deg overlap so I don't even follow my own advice also this may be more information than needed so disregard as appropriate
