Oh Yeah, TurboBersrker had some 317 heads for sale and were in excellent shape, and he is a great guy to deal with.

What is the difference in a forged crank and a Stock Crank Polished and Magna-Fluxed?

strength, but for your purposes the stock crank is enough IMO.

The stock 5.3 crank held up to 9#'s and was never a problem. I guess the "Stock Crank Polished and Magna-Fluxed" would hold up to that at least. Would a 75 shot be much more stress? And what is Magna-Fluxed?

There's more profit in a 402,the 370 takes more machine work with fewer parts to markup.Eagle does a complete rotating assembly for a 402/408 at a very resonable price while the 370 requires matching parts and machine work.None of the shortblocks include a cam or oilpump so you'll have a lot more out of pocket expense to get your truck running.

Forged internals so I can boost it to 10#'s and do a 50 to 75 shot from time to time.
If I can't find a builder who will do this engine for a reasonable price, I will do a stock 6.0, put my cam in, slap on the Radix and go.
That's all. I'm not trying to be the fastest Tahoe on the site or break into the 12's. I just want a daily driver that surprises people for how quick it is given its size and weight.

Boring over for added displacement is (and no offence) stupid as can be on any kind of street car- but even worse proceeding this statement. "I'm not wanting to spend the extra $$ on "Good" heads. I think the stockers would flow fine for what I am wanting."

Boring 30 over will be a COMPLETELY NEGLIGABLE GAIN. Completely. The word "boring" makes you think "ohh man, i'm really going to have some big bores"

nope. its essentially sanding down the bores. Get a set of a calipers and look at 0.015 inches. That is how much bigger it got from the center (how much you took off the walls).

Spend that money on headwork, it will yeild you much better results. Thats not an opinion, that is a fact.

If it doesn't need to be bored- dont bore it.

on a side note:
IMO, for your application I *might* even suggest a 5.3. smaller bores resist detonation far far better than a big bore, but the 6.0 isn't a big bore engine anyway. You be able to run more boost on a smaller bore but that is debatable i'm sure everyone here will go crazy on the above statement so i'll leave it at that.

means it was checked for cracks.

Contact BLOWN364, he is running a stock block LQ4 and Radix w/2.8" pulley and putting a 50shot to it. aka BlownChevyI. Stock Cam too.

crazy huh,

call me crazy since i am really not a motor expert but if your going to swap in forged pistons i thought it was a good idea to get the actual pistons and match up the bore to them. that is the reason for the over bore not the extra few cubes.

what you are missing and maybe you haven't beed around the gen3 comunity long enough to know is that stock 6.0 heads flow great. they flow better than many aftermarket castings for other motors. you have let your opinion be known wich is great. lets try not to end up with 50 posts on this subject. you can start a new thread on this if you like.
