So as of today I've got:
Cam
Springs
Gaskets
Push Rods (Hardened)
In-Line Fuel Pump
Fuel Pump Voltage Booster
42# injectors w/ Adapter Harness
LQ4 Short Block
LS1 Wet Kit (N2O)
3.0 & 2.75 Radix Pulley

What else?
sorry honey, the motor blew up. it's going to cost $8000 to fix

if you get an inline fuel pump i dont think you will need the fuel pump voltage booster. i took my lq4 up to 10psi and a 100shot on a cold night and it didn't drop any presure.

i could be wrong about this one since i am far from a cam expert, if you are geting a cam then there is no point in geting 1.8 rockers down the road. just get the cam that will give you the specs you want with the stock rockers. the stock rockers are prety nice.

the budget fix up sure has a way of spiraling out of control huh.

IMHO might consider a slightly longer than stock pushrod as the VHP cam's base circle is .043" smaller than the stocker.

1.550" Stock
1.507" VHP

I'll be there if I can get with Allen for a dyno tune - what kind of times are you expecting?

Actually, right now I'm only into it for $4400.
Funny thing is I got a PM tonight from the "Other" person I was looking to buy an engine from. Forged 402 built to my specs--$3800. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Short Block+Shipping 2,000.00
Injectors 210.00
Volt Booster/ Pump 130.00 (will sell if not needed)
Rotors 250.00
Pads 150.00
Tune 125.00
Injector Adapters 75.00
Plugs TR-6 16.00
Inline pump 219.00
ARP rod bolts 100.00
Cam/Springs 887.00
Gaskets/Push Rods 150.00
Oil/Coolant 50.00
Total to date: 4,362.00

I'm not sure but I'm willing to bet if I was to take my truck to an auto mechanic, and didn't know anything about engines, I might see a bill like that just to repair the 5.3 back to stock.

EDIT: I didn't add the short block to the total. Made it look like a REALLY good deal. When I said it was cheaper than fixing it I was not counting the short block. I fixed the numbers

It'd probably be that much if not more if you took it to a mechanic. That's not a bad price at all considering what you're getting.

Hopin for 12.70s on motor and high 11s on the 150 shot later there will be a direct port setup with a 250 shot that should net me a mid to low 11 second pass hopefully.'

At a normal shop it owuld cost you about 3000 grand for them to get a decent used 5.3 and do the swap you are coming out way ahead.

BTW Ill take some more pics of the engien bay and the engien disassembly in the next couple of days the truck is over at mjhowards house so I cant just go out and take a pic of it.

Back about the 918's...Mine has no increased valvetrain noise with them. I have 7.400 pushrods as well.
The factory rockers are a nice pieces. I personally wouldn't waste the $600 on the rockers. I would spend the money on some good pushrods though. A little detonation can warp a pushrod easily.
