Knock retard on stock denali...?
2001 stock yukon denali....6.0L 58k miles.....I get knock retard at throttle tip in.....and also at WOT throughout the gears....Shows anywhere from 3-5 degrees of knock retard. I can be cruising at 70, and just real quickly push down on throttle, like 1/4 throttle for a sec or so, not enough to kick down trans or anything and it will show 1-2 degrees for a sec. I would like to do a few things performance wise, but want to get the knock retard issue resolved first. My Z06 never gets knock retard. Any areas prone to cause this with the 6.0L?? It still has stock plugs and thermostat. I have a cooler thermostat, just haven't put it on yet, want to fix problem first. It can be 60 degrees out and the intake air temp is 60 also, it will do it still. ANy ideas where to look first? Does it with all brands of gas.
thanks, damon

loose
no, don't think it's that. checked it out underneath...never hear any noise at all. It only does it on throttle tip in, or WOT....I can go over bumps or railroad tracks and never any KR or noise....just thought that maybe these 6.0L have a few things common that might cause the knock retard.
