I know Truckin' magazine dyno'd the AEM and got 13 rwhp on a 5.3. I don't see where the K&N and the AEM differ that much, so I'm sure it is real close. I chose the AEM because the tube was polished aluminum and the heat sink is made of stainless steel. The K&N is a nice piece, and after all, they are the one's that have been around for ever and pretty much OWN the aftermarket air filter market.

It flows more air than the stock box, BUT the IATs go up quite a bit also. With outside air temps in the upper 30s my IATs get up to the 140* range around town. My buddy Mike with his stock air box and K&N drop in only gets up to the upper 70* range.

Could be in part because of the uncoated headers also. LOL
