Default If you had access to an engine dyno and a spare engine.......

What would you test?

I am doing some research at school and have an engine dyno waiting for me to work with. I have located a 4.8L that I would like to do some testing on because I am already familiar with this gen of engines.

I only have a few months to get the dyno set up and do testing so it has to be a pretty simple test. However I dont want it to be something that is really obvious like a larger intake/exhaust provides more power. I would like to try something that hasnt been tested too much yet. Some of the things that were recommended to me were ethanol, fuel economy and emissions because this is what the auto makers are beginning to focus more on.

Any ideas are extremely appreciated!

thanks

Put the screen/no screen MAF argument to rest! Document it!

I'd do HUGE cam vs. properly sized cam myself, so I had graphs to post for all those 27x/32x type cam threads

All the ones mentioned above would be great. I'd like to see how nasty of a cam a 4.8 could get by with. Basically what the 4.8 is capable of in terms of n/a power.

if you had access to the ls6 and/or ls1 intake, i would like to see a direct comparison against the truck intake.

How about multi-fuel capabilities and power output of each.
