anyone still adding acetone to gasoline ?

Default anyone still adding acetone to gasoline ?

did a search but the threads where over a year old.is anyone still adding this to there gas for better MPG ???

i did a few for a few months and quit.. too lazy.. did see better MPG though.

I did for a few tanks, really did not notice any difference. IMO it is not worth it escpecially if you accidently spill that stuff on your paint while putting it in..

I'm going to try it and I reply back soon. is the mix ratio 2 ounces to 10 gallons 4 to 20 and so on ???

just wanted to post back the results of adding acetone to my gas.I noticed no gains with cheaper brands gas IESpirit gas station).Now with Exxon I got +3 miles per gallon better adding 2 ounces of acetone per 10 gallon.

this is in my '02 silverado 2500 ecsb 6.0 liter and 3.73 gears = 100% bone stock

I've done it off and on for the last year or so, It does seem to get a 1 or 2 more MPG's (about 10%) when I do. Not really an issue with spilling it on your paint, I have and it didn't hurt anything, evaperats to quickly. The theory behind it is that the acetone breaks down the surface tension of the gasoline and allows it to vaporize better resulting in a more efficient burn.
