Default IAT's went down. Ha! Ha!

Well I took out the decorative Stainless Steel radiator Grill off and my IAT 's dropped at least 25 degrees. ECT's were down 20 and typically stayed in the 170's after 35mph. Most of the Low throttle KR went away. The radiator grill I had was a stamped 304 stainless steel with small holes punched out. I will look for a billet grill which seems much less restrictive. so basically before the by pass valve engages the supercharger the IAT's were 30 degrees above ambient max. Before removing grill, It was at 55-60 above ambient. Once the systems sees boost, the IAT's still get pretty high but now peaks out 10 degrees less than before. The engine feels a lot stronger. So I have ordered my chemical intercooler for now to take care of the boosted air temps!

So the lesson I learned is Dont buy the Stainless Steel Grill unless it has big holes in it to allow proper airflow.

I've often thought about aftermarket grilles being more restrictive. I have saw many that looked restrictive. Good info.

The way my Supercharger is set up, that would probably get a couple of degrees lower before the bypass valve kicks in.
