I Got Ripped Off!!!

so what in everyones opinion is the best way to set up transaction so no one gets screwed ? i hate thieves. there are alot of people on this site from different areas. if you can find out where he lives i'm sure someone would pay him a visit. i'd pay ten times what someone ripped me for to get them back. i also am hesitant to deal with guys that hav'nt been here very long or have few posts, i know that kind of sucks, but even though i hav'nt met any of you, you start to get a feeling about people just by the interaction. let us know if there's anything we can do. e

I don't think he ever set his timezone. It says Western Europe time zone. That may be the default for the software, I'm not sure.
He also was using an AOL account so pretty much nothing can be drawn from that.
I'd go to that link posted above and file a complaint with the FBI.

Crap, I just realized why that name sounded familiar. I think sent me a message on Ebay about having a LS1 Lunati stroker kit. His email stated he wanted to wire transfer the money only. If this is him, he was located in France. Turned out to be a loser looking to scam anyone willing to send him money. BTW, I did not deal with him and filed a complaint with Ebay on his address.
PayPal is absolutely no good for protection unless credit cards are used. They make it sound very safe and secure, and really push you to use your checking account. This is because you cannot challenge the money transfer later like you can with the CC. Use a CC at all times for best protection on secure websites ( https: address ) and do NOT trust PayPal. FYI, if you did not know Ebay bought PayPal a few months ago, this is why they are really pushing it.

Yeah, I hated that Paypal kept asking me to put my checking account info on there so it just withdraws money from there. They must think I'm stupid. At least with a credit card I can file a claim and/or just not pay them.
