If you paid with your credit card, im pretty sure it has some type of insurance for fraud.

If you paid with a credit card, turn it into your card holder. They will file a report along w/ paypal to get your money back. It happened to me and it works.

If you paid w/ credit card, you can always cancel thru the credit card company. Will put you in a bad spot w/ paypal but may give them more incentive to get this guy. They take a cut out of all of the volume they do, they need to also assume some of the risk. IMHO

All paypal does is lock the account. Not too much action on thier part.

I recently bought a video card off of ebay. I paid with Paypal, and it specifically had a paypal "buyer protection" approval stamp on the transaction. When I received the video card, it was broken. Seller had a statement saying it was guaranteed to work. Seller wouldn't refund my money and said he bought it that way so he shouldn't get stuck with having to pay me back. Long story. I give him plenty of chances, log all communication, then turn it in to Paypal under their protection claim. Paypal gets back to me in a few days and says that they won't cover me since the seller did send out a product. So I paid $150 for a broken card and paypal does nothing. I used my checking to pay, so I have no credit card complaint to fall back on.

Follow up: I set up a fake ebay account, and bid up $1000 worth of his auctions. Then led him on via email about making payments to the wrong address and such. It didn't get me my money back, but it felt a bit better getting to screw with him.
