Default ht383e

Just swapped a vortec 383 into my 97 truck and had some questions for anyone with this engine. My truck feels good for havin 35's on it but at about 4000 rpm runs out of steam. I swapped in a set of long tubes and didn't help. I have not had a tune done on it yet. Hooked a scan tool up and after about 3500 the timing starts to drop below 20 degrees. Just wondering if you guys think a tune with more timing would correct the problem?

Yes, please tune that sucker. Friend of mine put a Cadilac EXT motor in his 2002 Z71 and it ran great with absolutley no problems throughout the entire rpm band. He took it and had it tuned for his set up and modifcations and his fuel milage increased about 1.5-2 mpg and the ole butt dyno felt like an extra 15 to 20 hp.

Does your truck have cats on it? 4k is about the sweet spot where clogged cats will rear their ugly head...

Yeah it has new high flow cats on it with pacesetter headers. I'm gonna try a few things today and see if I can figure it out.

Default coil

curious if anyone knows the resistance the coil wire should have? I tested it and it was 600 ohms went and checked a few of my cars and most of there coil wires are in the 2400 range. Wanted to see if anyone knows before i go buy a new set of wires for one wire. also have a po300 misfire code now. Thanks

recieved my pcm from pcm4less and it totally changed the way the engine feels it now shift at 5500rpm idles smooth and has lots of low end power. It still feels like its running out of breath at about 4000 but not as bad as it was. Very happy with the tune.
