LQ9 has higher compression doesnt it? I thought the pistons had a different top.

LQ9 = 10:1 compression, flat top pistons
LQ4 = 9:1 compression, dished pistons

No the LQ9 is 10.08:1 and the LQ4 is 9.4:1

The LQ4's rated at 300 were at lower rpm's I believe whereas the LQ9 is rated at 5200 where the stock cam makes peak HP. LQ4 is 335 and LQ9 is 345, negligible difference.

I dont think he ment any harm by correcting you, rather just trying to clear things up.

After 04 I believe the only difference was the pistons prior the rods were also slightly different. I think all 05 and newer use LS2 Rods. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I am trying to remember.
