how much PSI in tires when racing?

Default how much PSI in tires when racing?

for a street race how much psi should i have in my tires for good traction. they are 18s with 255/55/18

Since you have positraction, you need to do a couple of tests to find your best psi. Do a burnout on clean concrete, check to where the rubber is: either on the center or outside ot the tire width. Then adjust your pressure to get an even mark across the width of the tire. I am pretty sure this is the way to do it with radials.

With a street tire and leaf springs,run as much pressure as you can without wheelhop.Start with about 26psi and either add or drop your tire pressure after a test run.Find a vacant strip of asphalt,take an air tank and a good air guage,then keep notes that include outside temp and air pressure.

i run with normal air pressure in my 235/75/16s around like 33

I run normal air pressure with my 285/60/17 but 285 is kinda wide.
