Default HOMEMADE Intake Lid, Tow Hook Scoop, Finally finished Part-4 (56k suffer)

Part-1
Part-2
Part-3

Well I finished up everything today. Except the 4" coupler was too short so I had to reuse the stock piece. Anyways, here is the final product. Homemade stock air box lid, 4" mandrel bent intake tube wraped in header wrap then fiberglassed over, Homemade Tow Hook scoop with 3" PVC piping.

I did have a MAC CAI and it worked pretty good. With this new setup the truck actually felt a little (not much) be better, mainly off idle and top end at speed (60+). Throttle response is also better. The best part is that there is no more intake noise. My old intake made that SWOOOOOSH noise when you steped on the gas. So the truck is still slow, but I am ok with that......

Here are the pics.

Enjoy!!

Looks good...

Remember what I said about the screen, you should consider running it, you're going to pick up a decent amount of crap...However, I don't think you have as much of a leaf problem as we do here in the north east.

Good job man! Hey this might be a stupid question but where did you find the rubber 90* you used to connect the tube to the throttle body? I have been looking for one for a good while to start a similar project on a buddies truck. Thanks

I got the rubber 90* from intakehoses.com $17.

It is regular 90* and some straight 3 in PVC you get at home depot. Oh and I painted flat black. Perhaps when I am off over Christmas I will ditch the PVC for some steel if I decide to make another scoop for the other side.

that's cool. if you need some materials i can hook you up for cheap.

I'm probably going to do the intake scoops on mine over the winter break. I dont have the money to finish the dune buggy's EFI conversion so i gotta find something cheap/inexpensive to take up my time lol.
