Default Help with tahoe 6.0 swap

Hey guys, im looking to do a 6.0 swap in my DD tahoe. I keep hearing all kinds of people tell me to choose a LQ4 over a LQ9 and then i hear the exact opposite.

im looking to run boost, possibly a turbo kit from kb racing.

Which motor do you guys suggest?

Thanks

Either is fine, they are the same thing, other then the 9 having a tiny bit more compression, only about a half point.. So anyone that you can get, get it..

John, don't LQ9s have upgraded rods like the LS2 engines? I know the LQ4 does as well after 05+, but I think all years of LQ9 have stronger components.

Ah yes you are correct, totally forgot about that.. However, the whole line of lsx engines have proved to how stout they are.. So with that said, if it makes the op feel better, then find a lq9, or find any 6.0 after the 2005 year, as the all have the beefier internals

Thanks for the responses!

I just rebuilt my 4l60 tranny with vet servos..will the 6.0 bolt up to it with no issues?

Yes use a 4.8 or 5.3 flex plate.. Oh and make sure you buy a 01 or after 6.0.. You also realize that the vette servo's will only help a slight bit. A stock 60 in that truck is going to puke in no time, esp a boosted setup..
