Default HELP!!!!!!!!! 'Service Engine Soon' light

Well, there is something wrong with my truck.

Tuesday night....leaving my sister's softball game, when I started my truck it would not stay running. This happened like 4 times sitting there in the parking lot. Finally I just kept the rpm's up to around 1000, and once it warmed up it stayed running.

Wednesday morning.....everything worked fine.

Wednesday evening....I took my truck to have the alarm installed.

Wednesday night......when I picked my truck up form the alarm shop the 'Service Engine Soon' light was on. Ran a little rough while idleing, but felt fine when driving (never got on it, didn't want to mess anything up). While cruising the SES light starts flashing and then when I stop at another light or stop sign it runs rough and the light stays on solid. I looked in the owner's manual and it says a flashing light is cause by detecting a misfire. I programmed the truck back to stock. It did not change anything. Then I put the stock plug wires back on. Still didn't change anything.

I took it into the dealer this morning. I just hope that it is nothing that is caused by a mod that I did. I don't have any idea what could be wrong with my truck.

What do you guys think could be the problem?

Flashing SES is a misfire.

Possible causes:

Loose sparkplug wire
faulty sparkplug wire
clogged fuel injector
inoperative fuel injector
bad coil pack
loose coil pack individual harness plug
loose coil pack main harness plug
fouled sparkplug
broken valvespring
bent valve
busted/bent pushrod

Check what you can, otherwise it is warranty time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

my SES light stays constantly lit.
some days it goes away; i usually see it on at night. during the day sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not. hmmm....
i guess i should do that SES trick on ls1.com to make it disappear. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

It's fixed now. The dealer said that the alarm guys cut the wires going to the 4 & 5 injectors, so that is why it was throwing the code.

The dealer charged me $150 to fix it, then the alarm dealer refunded me $150.

That's good to know. I'm kind of amazed the alarm guy refunded you the money. Did they give you much of a hassle?

No the alarm guy was not too hard to deal with at all. Once he checked out the truck and saw that it was a mistake that his installer made he refunded my money and apoligized for the problems. I would definitely recommend this shop to any one needing any truck accessories. Everyone has accidents, aslong as you take responsibility for them I have no problem.
