Default tranny

My '00 silverado 5.3 has 35,751 miles on her, so this week i'm taking her to the dealer for a last checkup. I've been having some problems with rough shifting, anybody got any ideas how I can get my dealer to eat a 4L60E? I'd just hate to go another 10,000 miles and blow it up, and think that I didn't try to get chevy to pickup the bill...

Be persistant and make them document the problem. You are probably out of luck getting them to replace it. What i would do is pony up the cash and get an extended warranty BEFORE you roll 36K. Some aftermarket warreny companies won't even sell you one if your facty one is out. Others will charge you more. I bought one at 42k for about $1200 that will last 5yrs or 100,000 miles. It has already paid for itself when I broke a piston at 47k. I got a whole new long block with a little extra out of pocket cash.
