Default help no oil pressure

Well. I started looking oil pressure. Was running fine with 40 psi while idling started dropping fell to 20 psi. All of the sudden 0 psi. Took off the oil cap and neck and I'm getting no oil to top. The motor started knocking. A pretty good tap. Checked the oil pump looks good nit sure what I suppose to look for but gears looked good. This is a 4.8 06 with probably 70k miles.dont get me wrong this engine has been through a lot. Nitrous boost several cam swaps etc Could it be the lifters. I was searching and it can possibly be a spun bearing. Is there anyone that can point me to the right direction. Thanks.

Drain and collect the oil, look for metal bits. Cut open the oil filter too. Sounds like a spun bearing.

Most likely a lifter came apart or a spun rod/main bearing. Like stated drain the oil into an open container and see whats in it. Good tap sounds like lifter, loud knock would be rod bearing.

I remember reading a post one time and it sounded just like that he says it was a bad cam seal. To go from 40 then just drop to 0 it must be pouring out somewhere. '
