Default header/tune/o2 sensor Questions

Well I ordered a set of LPP LT headers and ORY the other day which Im very excited about! Now my question, the headers and ORY appear to only have bungs for the front o2s, so I need to either get the o2s tuned out, or o2 simulators. Im going with the first option, so I gotta drive the truck with the headers and no rear o2s sensors about a half hour to get it tuned. So if Im simply unplug the rear o2s will I be ok? I know it will be throwing a "service engine soon" light but will it hurt anything? How long can I drive it like this without it hurting anything? thanks alot guys in advanced!

You should be fine. All the rear O2's do is monitor the status of the cats. The SES light will probably be on but no big deal. Your truck will probably run a bit rich for a while until the fuel trims catch up.

You'll be fine with the rear O2's unplugged, as mentioned they only function to monitor the cat converters and have very little to do with a/f ratio. You may get a check engine light and a couple of codes for the rear O2's, but that can be easily cleared when you show up at the shop for your tune.

Agreed, you will be fine until tuned. You should start the truck without any O2 sensors and just let it idle for a short time to burn off the lubricant used during the mandrel bending process. The lube can ruin your sensors and cost you for new ones and an additional trip to your tuner. This will give you a chance to take it through a heat cycle, recheck header mounting bolt torque, add some anti-sieze to the threads only on the O2 sensor and install. You will be ready to go. Enjoy!
