Default Header/ Steering Shaft = No Clearance. Help!

I think I may have a problem. After installing Thorley Headers, Driver's side header is rubbing the steering shaft, the part of it that is accordian looking. rattles really bad on acceleeration. I think I may have a messed up motor mount making it lean to one side but I really don't know how to tell, has anyone else had this problem or have a fix for it?

Not a bad motor mount, just not enough clearance for the headers....

You should contact Thorley and let them know, they have have an updated set of headers. I had the same problem a few years ago with the Edlebrocks when they first came out....now the problem is fixed.

Are the headers brand new??

yah my edelbrocks did the same thing. they told me that it happens on 1 in everyso many trucks. you just have to give them a hollar and they (thorley) should have the correct one to fit that side. something about the steering box is just a little closer to the motor than the other chevy's

I called thorley, they said they would be glad to take them back and there is very little variation between headers, but dadgummit, my cats are now flanged and pipe is too short and basically I am screwed, unless I can come up with a way to move the motor mounts some or fab some kind of smaller steering shaft with out the accordian crap on it, or move the power steering. Crap like this only happens to me.
