Paris did you get your 4l80e built by FLP. I thought it only had a shift kit in it. Did the stock 4l80e giveout.

the nearly stock 4l80e died a few months after i ran my best time. i think it was due to they yank converter failing and taking out the tranny. now i have a killer 10.5" tripple disk pi converter. i lock it up 1/2 way thru 2nd and leave it locked.

i was out beating on the truck last night and i could hear the boost controler starting to do it's job at only a few psi even though i was cranked up to 16 psi. it was leting the signal thru sooner than it needed to and was creeping up to the max boost. i adjusted the gain setting and it pulls way harder out of the hole. not sure how much it will help but we are going to go get some new gtech's just to see if it helped.

the gain control adjusts how quickly the controler tries to get the boost up. if the gain is too high it will over shoot the target and have to come back down and if it is too low it has to creep up on the max boost. i had it set prety good for the 6.0 but it seems to be diferent for the 4.8.

just got back from some runs, it sure feels like it spools quicker and pulls harder out of the hole but it doesn't seem to make much diference in the runs. the standard inconsistancys i see are wide enough to mask any gains in the quicker gain settings so it must not make much diference. even at 100% gain i am not overboosting so i am going to leave it cranked.

made a few runs and got a better time. same boost as before but ran a 11.56@123.5 with a 2.0 60'. my iat's were about 6deg cooler today maybe that is why it ran harder.

call me crazy but i think with a few mods i could get this 4.8 into the 10's. i would need an ice box for my intercooler to get near these times when the track is open. some traction aids like i all ready have planed and a 75shot out of the hole. shoot for some 1.60's or so. it would be real close to a 10.99.

turbo's are crazy!

that is why i deduct .3sec for 400+lb drop. i have a prety good feel for what changes will do to my ET. the one thing i know for sure is i will be much slower when it is 70deg out than i am today when it is 35deg out. the iceing of the intercoler will help with this a lot but probably not completely make up for the higher temp. there are a few days when the track is open and it is 40-50deg. on a prefect day i think the 4.8 could run a 10

So you are sayin that a stock 4.8 with a turbo making about 560rwhp on a very good race day could go 10's. Interesting . So i wonder what would happen if that 4.8 was a built 4.8
